Music, cheering and laughter filled the air on March 25, 2013. The Capizeno Association of Ontario hosted their annual Spring Fling at the Unitarian Congregation Hall in Mississauga. Filled with food, fun and lots of dancing, the night was a huge success!
At 6:00 p.m., the evening started with an introduction by Tiffany Banate – Event officer and MC for the night – followed by a welcome speech from the association president, Jerome Banate, and a speech from the Honorable Justice, Steve A. Coroza. Having been recently promoted to Superior Court Judge, Justice Coroza is the first Filipino-Canadian Judge (who happens to be a son of a Capizeno) in Canada. The association appreciates the time put aside from his busy schedule and congratulates him on his promotion!
As the evening progressed, members were treated to an open buffet followed by assorted desserts. There was plenty of dancing and partying, which included – of course – line dancing and ballroom dancing (the night would not be complete without it!).
The Spring Fling ended on a high note and finished with a bang. The proceeds of the event were raised for a scholarship towards College of St. John – Roxas’ Students in Capiz, Philippines. Hope to see you at the next event!
